Aberdeenshire covers an area of approximately 6,313 square kilometers (2,437 square miles), representing about 8% of Scotland’s territory, and has a population of around 260,000 people.
The region includes the historic counties of Aberdeenshire, Kincardineshire, and part of Banffshire, while the city of Aberdeen forms an independent council area within it. The landscape features agricultural lowlands, rivers flowing eastward, and the Grampian Mountains, including the notable peak Lochnagar.
